28-29 Weeks: Holy Bunnies

We have officially hit the 3rd trimester! I was so excited because that means we are getting close to meeting the little baby nugget.. but then my body fell completely apart and now I'm not so excited. My hips and back are a disaster- they hurt so bad. Walking is nearly impossible sometimes. My face is breaking out again, hmm, thanks hormones- you horrible jerks. I'm so flipping sick now, like more sick than I have been the whole time. I guess that means the kid is really cooking in there.
Speaking of the kid, they are a dancing fool anymore. I mean seriously! In fact, the nugget and I got in our first fight today. I was at work and every time I would roll close to my desk the kid would kick, HARD. Therefore pinching my stomach between their foot/head/butt/arm/whatever any my wooden desk. Can we all just say "ouch" in unison. Thanks, I appreciate your sympathy.
Anywho, we hit 28 weeks on Easter Sunday because we have awesome timing. Here I am with a giant belly....
The wall is supposed to say "Happy Easter to our Baby Bunny" but my belly cut off the -ny.... So happy Easter to our Baby Bun. Which makes me giggle. Next time I promise to move back and not let my stomach take over the wall. P.S. this was the very first day my ankles swelled and they were ridiculous! I don't look forward to that...
The next weekend, at 29 weeks, we went to have a quick "sneak peek" of the nugget. We had our 3d ultrasound done and it was amazing. I honestly thought it was going to be like a normal ultrasound where they point something out and I pretend like I know what they are talking about but these were SO CLEAR. Here are a few...

Those are baby faces! :). The kid was kicking around and moving. It was awesome for Andy to actually see the movement of the baby- it made it pretty real. Also, they gave us a dvd of the session so we can look back and see the stretches and twirls.

Ooops, I'm behind

Well, I suck. It has been a busy month and a half around these parts. So let's just get down to business. First we have my 22 week picture:
It took a while to start feeling movement in there. But the baby is definitely making up for lost time. This kid is STRONG! Andy can feel the baby move and most of the time he is very impressed by the strength of the kicks.
Next up, we made the trip to Missouri for my baby shower. It was a lot of fun, it's always great to see a bunch of people in one visit. Speaking of awesome people...

Some seriously awesome sorority sisters :). They are so pretty. Here are some other quick pictures of the shower...

Apparently food is very important to me. After the shower we had a birthday party for me and my niece Madeline.

After the excitement of all of the parties we headed home. Which was a 2 day drive with my parents. I was surprised how hard it was for me to sit for lengths of time, normally I'm just fine in the car for hours and hours. Not so much this time, we had to stop every 2 hours. Which made it a long trip for everyone... sorry. But we finally made it home and started on a bunch of our nursery projects (WOOT!). I will do a whole post on just the nursery projects soon. Anywho, my parents had a very eventful visit. I will fill everyone in on that soon.

To wrap it up, here is my picture from today.. Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy 26 Weeks!

20 Weeks

We are officially halfway there! Or in other words, the baby is half baked. However, week 19 was kind of a mess, filled with ups and downs. First, I was asked to be on a local TV to talk about an organizational challenge I've been taking part in. Me, organized? Crazy talk. But the challenge has truly helped me so I messaged the show and told them to look into it. Instead they asked me to come on the show on Tuesday January 29. We have had some serious snow and Monday and Tuesday were the WORST. Like snow and ice everywhere. So after the show, which was awesome by the way, I headed up to the University of Utah for work. I thought I would be smart and walk through buildings instead of taking the exterior stairs which were solid ice. Smart, I know. But my luck kicked in and I fell down the stairs inside the building.
It was incredibly scary. Not for me but for the baby. I did not fall on my stomach but I have heard horror stories of women falling and causing all sorts of issues. So my first call was straight to my doctor's office. He was not in so I was asked to come in and see the midwife (who was very nice). Next call was to my Mister. He started to kind of freak out as well and decided to meet me at the doctor's office. The midwife thoroughly checked me out including blood work and moving up my hospital ultrasound. So we headed over to the hospital to get checked in for that. The ultrasound was AWESOME! We got some amazing pictures of the baby. The tech kept the gender a secret for us and printed off some "glamour shots" for us. But the baby did not want to show her their face, which is one of the images they need for the report. So we were sent to the cafeteria to get some juice and jump around a little bit. Luckily the baby had moved when we returned and she got all of the pictures she needed. (I will post ultrasound pictures later).
I've been incredibly sore and apparently the fall has thrown my hips out of wack so walking, sitting, standing, laying, sleeping, etc has gotten a little difficult. It probably doesn't help that my stomach is ever growing. In fact here is my 20 week picture to show the growth:
And that's right the ultrasound tech measured the baby and apparently it is a little over 6.5 inches long and is 11oz. (plus or minus an ounce). That's one biiig nugget!

18 Weeks and The New Additions

Woot! We have made it to 18 weeks! Optimus Prime is apparently the size of a sweet potato! Which apparently means it's 5.6 inches and 6.7 oz! What a big nugget.

Do you think this is what Optimus looks like? lol
Anywho, here is a picture of me looking all weird again. You are incredibly welcome, World.
That's right, the baby can now hear! So I told Andy we have to stop cussing or at least say it quieter. Haha, yeah right.
Speaking of cussing there was a lot of that happening around here yesterday when Mr. Andy was trying to install this bad boy....
Hello you pretty dishwasher.
That's right we got a new dishwasher and a refrigerator to match. Thanks to the Sears that is going out of business down the street.
That's what's happening around here... I hope the rest of the world is doing well. Oh yeah, here are pictures of our dog wearing a scarf because he is a hippie and we loves him.

Holy Registry

Today Andy and I ventured out into the frozen tundra that is Salt Lake right now to try and tackle the holy grail of baby preparedness... The registry.
We started at Target, where everyone and their mother were doing their registry. I mean seriously, we went through 2 scanner guns and didn't even get through all of the aisles. I gave up when the second gun died. I thought we did pretty good but it was so incredibly overwhelming.
Speaking of overwhelming, our next stop was Buy Buy Baby. That place is awesome/overwhelming/informative/scary as poo. We got to sit down with a lady who explained everything and gave us this super sweet checklist of what they recommend to register for. She also gave us a tour and pointed out a lot of great items for us. Yes, there was so much stuff at this place but for some reason it just seemed more manageable.
There were a few points when I thought, "Little Baby Nugget, do you really need all of this stuff?" No, they probably don't and we will probably freak out having it all but hopefully we can get some of the basics and then just build from there. I mean, honestly, is a bouncy seat, excersaucer, swing, and play gym really necessary? We will soon find out. Stay tuned, my friends, stay tuned.

16 Week Appointment

Today I went in for my 16 week appointment. I was dreading it in a serious way. I knew they were going to be taking blood for the genetic testing and that scares me to death. Genetic testing? No, taking blood! And to make it worse this is the first appointment Andy wasn't going to make it to, aka no one to hold my hand.
Anywho, I got through it and I even got my flu shot because I'm a big girl. At least that's what Andy told me this morning, I think he was lying. They not only took blood at this appointment, they also did an ultrasound. IT WAS AWESOME! All of the past ultrasounds have been kind of lame, to tell you the truth. It went something like:
"You see that blob, yeah that's a baby."
"Hmm, are you sure? That just looks like a bubble."
But this time, as soon as they put the Doppler on my stomach I could see the head of the baby and it's face!
Head and face, but for some reason when they print these things off you can't make them out anymore!

I'm not really sure why, but the images were so darn clear on the screen but the print offs just look ridiculous. Then they moved the Doppler a little and I could see the whole body!
I tried to make it easier to read but I think I failed.
Right after this picture was taken I could see the baby moving their legs and kicking around. It was seriously amazing! They didn't even have to zoom in or anything! The Nugget is officially around 5 inches long.

HERE I AM!

Holy Moley! I've put the blog away for a long time... But I'm here to satisfy my mother. Let's catch up the world on what has happened in the last *cough* year and a half *cough*. In October of 2011 I started working at a preschool in Cottonwood Heights, it was the biggest learning experience I've ever had in my life. I learned so much about myself, I learned about others, I also learned how I work best. In July of 2012 Andy and I started the Atkins Diet. It was an insane life experience. I left the preschool at the end of August 2012 to start a new position at the University of Utah financial aid office. I'm still working there and I absolutely love it. I only work part time and it works out great. In October of 2012 we stopped the Atkins Diet after losing 90 lbs between the two of us. There has also been countless projects, vacations, and interesting moments since the last time I was here. I'm happy to report that I haven't been distracted with trying to document every single happy moment I've been living them to their fullest.
Here's a happy moment for you... On October 17, 2012 Andy and I found out we will be expecting a little baby nugget in June of 2013! We are absolutely overjoyed. Which has thrown my crafty/project oriented brain into overdrive. We have decided to not find out the sex of the baby... Crazy talk, I know. That means we will be decorating a gender neutral nursery! You know how much I love decorating! So keep checking back here for updates on the Nugget's Nursery.
Anywho, my mom has been on me about taking "belly pictures"... I'm not really into these. I'm having a real hard time with the gaining weight since I feel like I just lost all of this weight and now I'm gaining it all back. But here I am, making my mom happy!
I look pretty terrible, but in my defense I had already been asleep on the couch for 2 hours. Hopefully the next time I do this I will actually put make up on and not fall asleep on the couch.
